Up to two students in Burma will each receive GBP 2,500.
The top three scholars in the East Asia region will each receive GBP 25,000.
The scholarship will go towards tuition fee of the scholars' chosen courses, to be paid directly to the institutions.
*East Asia region includes China, Hong Kong & Macau, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Burma, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam

TO QUALIFY FOR AN IELTS SCHOLARSHIP, YOU MUST:
- currently live in Burma
- begin undergraduate or postgraduate study outside Burma in 2014 (academic year)
- attend a higher educational institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements
- have taken your most recent IELTS test at the British Council, with a minimum band score of 6 in each of the four component parts of the test
- be able to provide an acceptance letter from the attending institution by 27 June 2014.
HOW TO APPLY?
- Take an IELTS test at a British Council authorised centre and receive your scores
- Download and complete the application form
- An original hard copy of your application should be sent to:

- Your completed application must be received before 6 June 2014.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Applications are initially reviewed against the British Council IELTS scholarship eligibility criteria and assessed by British Council officers
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a face-to-face video-taped interview, where you will be assessed by a panel of senior managers and external raters from the higher education and/or corporate sectors in Hong Kong.
